Training & Facilities - A place to play, learn and belong.

Training should be somewhere children want to be.

ARETE trains in Mittagong in the Southern Highlands, providing an environment where players can work hard, enjoy their football and keep developing alongside their teammates.

We don't believe great development comes from facilities alone. What matters most is what happens within them.

Training with purpose

An ARETE session should feel active, energetic and full of football.

Players will spend plenty of time with the ball, playing, competing, solving problems and making decisions. Coaches will teach and challenge, but players will also have the freedom to try things, make mistakes and work things out for themselves.

We expect players to work hard and want to improve. But training should also be something they look forward to.

There should be effort and focus. There should also be laughter, friendships and the simple enjoyment of playing football.

Work hard. Play with freedom. Enjoy being part of the team.

Our training ground

ARETE trains in Mittagong, in the heart of the Southern Highlands.

Our training ground gives us the space to create age-appropriate sessions for our junior teams, moving between individual work, small-sided games, team activities and larger game situations.

We'll provide the footballs, equipment and environment our coaches need to deliver good sessions.

But we won't pretend the quality of a football environment can be measured by how impressive the facilities look.

Facilities don't develop players. What happens within them does.

An environment children want to be part of

Come to an ARETE training session and we want you to see energy.

Balls moving. Players competing. Coaches engaged. Teammates encouraging each other. Moments of concentration and moments of laughter.

Children should feel comfortable enough to try something difficult, confident enough to make their own decisions and supported when things don't go their way.

Over time, we want that environment to create something recognisable in every ARETE team:

Passion and togetherness.

Players who enjoy playing together, work for each other and take pride in being part of their team.

And for a parent watching from the outside, we'd like the feeling to be equally simple:

“My child wants to be here.”
